SUMMARY OF PHENOMENA
From the mid-19th century until the early 1990s, the Willard Center was an asylum. The first patient arrived naked in a cage. Ultimately, over 5,000 bodies were buried in an unmarked field. Now a drug-treatment prison, several guards and employees claim to experience supernatural phenomenon on the grounds. A few guards fled the quarters after seeing the spirit of a woman screaming at them. The superintendent of the facility has requested PRS to come on site and conduct an investigation. On a side note, PRS is bringing in Chris Moon, a paranormal researcher and operator of a controversial new tool called "Frank's Box." This box, developed by Frank Sumption, is being hailed as a "telephone to the dead." PRS has decided to experiment with using the box on this investigation and see what insight it provides. NOTES FOR THE DISPATCHED FIELD RESEARCH TEAM • Can we explain away the Willard Asylum haunting? • If Willard is truly haunted, why are the spirits still remaining? • How can PRS resolve a case that does not involve any living clients? • Is Frank's Box a legitimate tool? |

I'm excited to see this "Frank's box"contraption. Also can't wait as the trailer made it seem like this episode has the most paranormal activity so far.

I'm excited to see this "Frank's box"contraption. Also can't wait as the trailer made it seem like this episode has the most paranormal activity so far. We were talking about Frank's box on KAPS radio last night and I agree, I think that all asylums have the most paranormal activity. -------------------- someone needs to rethink life and

Any place with that much suffering and trauma will have extreme activity, even if it's just the residual type. Whether the others want to come out and play or not is what we're all waiting for tonite.

Will the episode givve any insight into why they chose Grandview? Some of us (EX-employees) really think other buildings would be more "active". Are there any plans to go back and take a shot at any other buildings? Seems like WPC (or whatever it is called now) would offer an entire season!

Definately looking forward to seeing Frank's box in action. I have been skeptical so far since I have not found anything other than a description of what it does rather than the mechanics behind how it works. Would love to see something like this work.

Thought I'd share this....
Eastern State Lunatic Asylum Eastern State Psychiatric Hospital is located in Lexington, Kentucky. The hospital was established by a legislative act of December 4, 1822 and is the 2nd oldest psychiatric hospital in the United States. On May 1, 1824 the hospital, known then as the Lunatic Asylum, welcomed it's first patient. Over the years, the name has changed several times, until 1912 when the General Assembly officially renamed it Eastern State Hospital. The Eastern State Hospital Cemetery, located on the hospital grounds, in use from the first quarter of the 19th century until the early 1950s, is no longer intact. Local industrial development resulted in a relocation of many cemetery graves to a small common area of land near the hospital grounds. It is unknown how many individuals are buried in the cemetery, but is believed to consist of 10,000 or more. The majority of them without grave markers, and if that was not bad enough, there is no documentation of where the bodies are buried. "Most of them died from disease," White said, noting that cholera epidemics devastated the patient population in 1833, 1849, 1850 and 1855. Patients also died from smallpox, chronic dysentery and various methods of treating mental illness at the time: bloodletting and the use of laxatives, vomiting agents and mercury. Many of the early deaths were linked to a polluted water supply discovered in 1856, White said. Once the water problem was corrected, the death rate waned for a number of years, he added. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/esh/news/esh_news.htm Exciting huh? Well to me anyways, since I live in lexington..So thats why Im super exited about tonights episode..Its not everyday you read in the newspaper they found thousands of bones after blasting a strip of land downtown...Its a shame KAPs or someone didnt get in to investigate before it was tore down and the bodies moved.. I dont know how I feel about franks box..I remember reading about a generic one that someone made..Like it works off am/radio waves or something..Like Topher said its controversial..But its always interesting to try new things!
